Thirdspace

The novelization of the second Babylon 5 movie made for TNT is a good book, but not as good as the first one. Having read both novels, but having seen neither of the films, I can compare the books but cannot relate to the movies.

Although "Thirdspace" is not as suspenseful and intriguing as "In the Beginning", it is fun to read. This is not a book which should be taken too seriously. After all, this is not a book which really helps understand the grand scheme of things in the Babylon 5 universe. The whole point of "Thirdspace" is the adventure - the race against time to defeat the powerful aliens who have emerged from the gate to Thirdspace, another dimension like regular space and Hyperspace. J. Michael Straczynski wrote the film this book is based on in order to add some spice to B5's serious, profound little universe.

Some places in the novel tend to get a bit boring, but those places are few. Most of the book is interesting and quite entertaining. I highly recommend it.
